The Canadian 29er Class Association has part of its mission to promote, foster, encourage, and sponsor 29er class racing in Canada.

As a result, the Association is directly engaged in selection and support for the Canadian Nationals, the Canadian 29er Junior (Youth) Championships, the Regional Grand Prix Series (West/Central, East and Atlantic), and works with its counterparts in support of the 29er North American Championships.

29er Canadian National Championship

The 29er Class Association annually receives bids for and designates the selected event for the Canadian National Championship. The selected host’s organizing authority is notified by the end of the calendar year and an announcement of made for the event’s location in the coming season.

The team placing first at the National Championship is awarded the championship “Belt”.

Awarded for over 20 years now, the prestigious “Belt” trophy is unique to the 29er class. It is a hand-crafted work, made by nationally recognized iron-work artist Robert Acoin from Kingston Ontario.

Every year, the new title holders names are engraved on the trophy belt.
